My name is Laura Triana Hernandez, and I’m a Cuban animation student, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation. Art has always been my way of making sense of the world—whether it was sketching in the margins of my notebooks or obsessing over how animated characters could feel so alive.
My love for cartoons quickly spiraled into a fascination with animation, illustration, and storytelling in all its forms. I find inspiration in many places, from classic animation to the emotional depth of video games. I also believe in the power of travel to broaden one’s perspective. Exploring new cultures and environments has a way of sparking fresh ideas and creative energy, fueling my passion for creating stories that resonate on a deeper level.
While I’m still refining my artistic style, I aim to blend dynamic character design, expressive storytelling, and a mix of traditional and digital techniques. (Yes, I still love my sketchbook, but I’ve also made peace with my tablet.)
Skill-wise, as of right now, I do mostly drawing, painting, and video editing, with a growing expertise in digital art and animation. My goal? To create immersive worlds, unforgettable characters, and stories that make people feel something—whether it’s awe, excitement, or the sudden urge to cry over fictional characters. Ultimately, I aspire to work in animation or video games, bringing stories to life and making people care about pixels on a screen as much as I do.
